In the absence of (modern) introductory grammars, exercises and the like, they often must concoct their own courses of study using inappropriate materials such as expensive, specialized reference tools and work without didactic guidance. Those wishing to study these languages are often faced with various difficulties. Arabic, Accadian, Ancient Egyptian, Hebrew etc. Demotic, Moabite, Coptic, Old Aramaic, Official Aramaic, Nabataean, Phoenician and Punic, Luwian, Palmyraean etc.- or only taught at specialized institutions, e.g. Its purpose is to provide up-to-date learning materials for (Ancient) Near Eastern languages which are either not part of the regular academic curriculum - e.g. The SILO series is published by Harrassowitz Publishing House, Wiesbaden. ![]()
